If enough object, possible the idea may be dropped and the HD mux licence renewed. But ultimately will be a commercial decision by BBC, ITV, Ch4, Ch5/Paramount, DCMS and Ofcom. Yet I have a 1Gb fibre with tons of free bandwidth on it that I can't use to make this look better (without paying Sky/Virgin or buying a new Freely TV). If I stream iPlayer, Now TV, Amazon Prime or any of the regular streaming services through their apps on my smart tv I can watch them right away in real time, apparently in hd quality, without interruption and through the same broadband and Wi-Fi.
